Thank You, have some Slashers
Last week we launched a fundraiser for the Cinemagic, and there was an obvious spike in donations after the E-mail announcement went out. Thank you. We’ve already put the first wave of donations to work, and we’ll have a more tangible progress update ready soon.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can learn more here.
Honestly, we can’t say it enough. Thank you.
Freddy Versus Jason starts Friday
Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th may be the two of the best-known slasher franchises, but they couldn’t be more different. With its dreamscape settings and the gleefully manic Freddy Kruger, the Elm Street films broke the slasher mold. But, the silent inevitability of Friday’s Jason Vorhees became an archetype for good reason. His unrelenting menace hits on a primal level.
We couldn’t pick just one, so we’ll be playing a bunch of films from both franchises. Who’ll come out on top? Only time will tell.
A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Friday the 13th: Jason Lives, Jason X, and Freddy Vs Jason play September 15-21. Showtimes and Tickets
Hard Science
Whether it’s the limits of space, or the human problems we face every day, speculative fiction lets us push at the edges of the world. We’ve lined 5 of our favorite down-to-earth science fiction films, because big ideas don’t always need a big budget.
Children of Men, District 9, Snowpiercer, Moon, and Primer play September 22-28. Showtimes and Tickets
