Staff Picks and much, much more

It’s been a minute since the last newsletter, because we’ve been busy. Ryan just lined up the biggest block of repertory bookings we’ve ever done, and Nick opened a restaurant, arcade and bar across the street. It’s been a lot of work, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

But first… we’ve got a week of great picks courtesy of the Cinema staff.

Summer ‘24 Staff Picks

Once again, we’ve again handed over bookings to our excellent staff, and they picked everything from summer blockbusters to little known indie fare. Per usual, it’s a great lineup, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom of the Paradise, RENT, Rubin & Ed, and Antichrist.

Summer staff picks play July 19-25. Check out the event page to see a full schedule and read about everyone’s pick in their own words.

John Carpenter Double Feature

An annual tradition returns. This Saturday, join us as we celebrate our 3rd year at the Cinemagic with a double feature of The Thing and They Live. We love these movies, and we played them for our soft opening in 2021. It’s always a great time, and it give us a chance to take the stage and say thanks.

They Live plays Saturday, July 19 at 7:00. Tickets
The Thing plays Saturday, July 19 at 9:10.

Gift Bar is open

Want to grab a bite to eat before the show? We’ve got you covered. Last week was the soft launch of Gift Bar, a new joint that Nick (one of our owners) and his wife Brittany (the one that knows what she’s doing) opened up. It’s a cheap and easy neighborhood joint with plenty of room, good food, and pinball. Also, through at least the end of August, each ticket stub you bring in will knock $2 off your tab.

P.S. all ages are welcome, it’s just got bar vibes.

REPMAGEDDON is coming

You know that massive block of rep booking I mentioned? Repmageddon runs for 4 weeks, and includes: Total Recall, Godzilla (1954), A Clockwork Orange, Independance Day, Speed, Tank Girl, Lethal Weapon, Big Trouble in Little China, Pale Rider, The Fighting Fist of Shanghai Joe, The Man Called Noon, Hell or High Water, Thirteen Ghosts, From Beyond, Jenifer’s Body, Child’s Play, Leaving Las Vegas, The Wicker Man, Con Air, Bringing Out the Dead, The Seventh Curse, The Cat, The Peacock King, and Riki-Oh.

Check out the event page for the full rundown. Tickets on sale now.
