Worldwide weird

October is almost over, and what better way to cap off the spooky season than one of the strangest film line-ups we’ve ever ran?

DEAD TALENTS SOCIETY

We’ll kick things off with DEAD TALENTS SOCIETY, a Taiwanese horror comedy about a rookie ghost trying to break into the Hollywood-esque world of professional haunting. It’s tons of bloody fun, and it got glowing reviews on the festival circuit earlier this year. Times and Tickets

ABRUPTIO

After that, we’ve got ABRUPTIO, a truly bizarre mystery/horror film about a man who wakes up one morning with a bomb in his neck, and mysterious phone calls that give him incresingly dire instructions. Shot entirely with life-sized puppets, Abruptio is surreal, unnerving, and unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Times and Tickets

STRANGE DARLING with production designer Priscilla Elliot

At 7:00 on Saturday, we’ll have a one-night-only screening of STRANGE DARLING, with production designer Priscilla Elliot in attendance. Strange Darling is a twisty horror-thriller that’s among the year’s best films, and we’re thrilled that Priscilla will be joining us for a Q&A after the film. Tickets

PARACINEMA PRESENTS: EVIL ED

Tuesday (10/29) Paracinema returns with the bonkers Swedish horror-comedy EVIL ED, a splatter film about a film censor who goes mad after watching too many splatter films. As best we can tell (and Tony asked the film’s director) this is the first time EVIL ED has shown theatrically in the states. Tickets

Closed Halloween

The theater will be closed on Halloween, but if you can’t get enough movies, Co-owner Nick will be playing B-movies all night on the mezzanine at Gift Bar across the street. Check out the details here.
