Dinner in america and the Return of GODZILLA
Wow, the movie line-up for October got… weird. And not like our usual brand of odd, we’re talking giant-human-puppets-with-neck-bombs weird.
Speaking of such, we’ve got our last show of ABRUPTIO tonight at 7:00. It’s a headlong plunge into uncanny valley, and I promise you’ve never seen anything like it. Tickets
Dinner in America
As best we can tell, there are two kinds of people: people who love DINNER IN AMERICA, and people who haven’t seen it. Unfortunately, I’m in the latter group (for now), but here’s a link to one of many glowing reviews, which includes lines like:
…If you love movies where the downtrodden come out on top, and the dark underbelly of suburbia is exposed, then you need to seek out this film as soon as it becomes available to the public. It’s honestly one of the best dark comedies I’ve seen in years, and I can’t wait to watch it again.
Dinner in America plays various times November 2, 3, 6 and 7. Tickets
GODZILLA MINUS ONE &
GODZILLA -1.0/C
At this point we’ll take just about any excuse to put Godzilla Minus One (and it’s black and white remaster Godzilla -1.0/C) back on the big screen. So, when we learned that TOHO Studios was celebrating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla with theatrical rerelease that included 15 minutes of behind-the-scenes content and interviews, we jumped at the chance.
Godzilla Minus One plays various times November 2-5. Tickets
Godzilla -1.0/C plays various times November 1-5. Tickets
Closed Halloween
Just a reminder that we’ll be closed on Halloween night, but if you can’t go a night without a cinema-fix, Co-owner Nick will be hanging out at GIFT BAR across the street, playing some of his favorite old-school B-movies on the mezzanine.
