CATS CATS CATS
The Holidays are upon us, and we’ve got a present for you…
It’s cats. Lots and lots of cats.
Tonight MEOWSTERPIECE begins. For two weeks we’re playing the finest in Interntional cat cinema, and taking donations for the Oregon Humane Society. For a finale, we’ll be playing back-to-back shows of Cat Video Fest 2024 and donating 50% of the ticket sales from those shows to the Humane Society.
The Meowvies
House (Hausu)
A one-of-a-kind barrage of vibrant imagery and wild imagination, featuring both an ominous cat and a blood spitting cat painting.
Batman Returns
It may be called Batman Returns, but this is Catwoman’s movie. Michelle Pfieffer’s scene stealing performance and army of cats provide the perfect foil for the ever-serious Batman.
THE CAT
A wild Hong Kong actioner about a magical space cat known as “The General”. What are The Generals true motives? Is he here to help or hurt mankind? You’ll have to watch it to find out.
Cat’s Eye
A trio of stories tied together by a young girl and a mysterious cat named… General? Again? It’s an unjustly overlooked 80’s horror anthology, culminating in a killer cat vs. goblin showdown.
Kedi
A documentary that follows seven free roaming cats through their lives on the streets of Istanbul. It’s a big-hearted film that provides a fascinating cat’s eye view of Istanbul and its people.
The Cassandra Cat
A joyous Czech new-wave film about a caring teacher whose town is visited by a troupe of performers and their cat Mokol, who reveals peoples’ true color when someone takes off his (extremely cool) sunglasses.
Uninvited
A genetically mutant cat escapes to a yacht, leaving no escape from the second, evil, poisonous cat living inside it (except when it turns back into a floofy orange cat so it can get scritches).
The Shadow of the Cat
After witnessing the murder of her owner, Tabitha (a normal cat, with no magical powers) sets out for vengeance, all the while the evading the killers attempt to silence her, the only witness.

Cat Video Fest 2024 in support of the Oregon Humane Society
The Cat Video Fest is exactly what it sounds like: a whole bunch of cat videos on the big screen. To some of you this might sound odd; It’s not like you need to go to the theater to watch cat videos.
But, we think a trip to the movies is about sharing an experience with friends and like-minded strangers. When you look at it that way, settling in with a bunch of folks to laugh at goofy cat videos sounds perfect.
Better yet, pretty much all the ticket money goes to charity. For each ticket sold we’re giving half the money to the Oregon Humane Society, while the other half goes to the makers of Cat Video Fest, who donate more money to cat-based charities.
Cat Video Fest 2024 plays Monday, December 23rd at 5:00 and 7:00. Tickets
Try someting new…
This is probably one of the strangest line-ups we’ve ever assembled, but it’s also one of our favorites. Even more than usual, we would encourage you to try something new this week. You might just find a new favorite.
