The Cronenberg before Christmas

After a major breakdown last week, last night was our first night operating completely on the new projection equipment. We’ll share a lot more details about it soon, but the on-screen image is looking great. And by “great,” we mean “basically the same, with subtle improvements.”

Cronenberg^2

David Cronenberg is a master of discomfort, and for 40 years he’s maintained remarkably broad popularity despite taking audiences beyond their comfort zone. Now his son, Brandon Cronenberg, appears more than ready to take up the mantle with a string of disquieting films that continue his father’s legacy while forging a path all his own.

Croneneberg² includes David Cronenberg’s body horror classic The Fly, as well as his uncharacteristic forray into crime thrillers, A History of Violence. From Brandon Cronenberg, we’ll have his psychological sci-fi horror breakout Possessor, and Portland’s first theatrical run of Infinity Pool in its uncensored form.

Croneneberg² plays November 17 - 22. Tickets and Times

A Very Cinemagic Christmas II

A Very Cinemagic Christmas returns for the second year, with a new mix of classics and soon-to-be classics (just you wait, Santa with Muscles will find its audience eventually).

This year, our Christmas line-up includes returning favorite National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, the oft-requested Die Hard, goopy horror-comedy Gremlins, the hilarious (and sometimes troubling) Home Alone, manic Schwarzenegger vehicle Jingle all the Way, and the VHS NIGHT screening of Hulk Hogan’s holiday fever dream Santa with Muscles.

A Very Cinemagic Christmas II plays November 24 through December 1. Tickets and Times

Godzilla Minus One and The Boy and the Heron tickets going fast.

Heads up: Tickets for the opening weekends of both films are going quickly, so anyone who wanted to catch those shows should pick up tickets sooner than later.
