Halloween in July

Our love of John Carpenter movies is no secret. When we opened 2 years ago, we did it with a double feature of They Live and The Thing. For our one-year anniversary, we brought the John Carpenter double feature back. For year 3, a double feature just doesn’t feel like enough, so we’re dedicating an entire week to the genre film master.

They Live

There are only 2 movies we've played every year since re-opening, and John Carpenter's anti-commercialist joyride They Live is one of them.

They Live plays Friday (6/30) at 7:00, and Sunday (7/2) at 4:45. Tickets

Halloween

Every Halloween (The holiday, not the movie), we talk about playing Halloween (the movie, not the holiday). Then we don't do it, because a dozen other theaters had the same idea. The thing is, we really want to play Halloween, and we’re pretty damn sure no one else in town will run it on Fourth of July weekend, so here we are.

Halloween plays Friday (6/30) at 9:15, and Wednesday (7/5) at 7:00. Tickets

Starman

Starman starts out with the high-concept pitch of an alien accepting the “hello” recorded on the Voyager spacecraft as an invitation to earth. But after that set up, it pivots into a surprisingly sensitive and funny road movie, anchored by great performances from Bridges and co-star Karen Allen.

Starman plays Saturday (7/1) at 4:30, and Sunday (7/2) at 7:00. Tickets

The Thing

The Thing is both one of the best horror films ever made, thanks to the incredible combination of John Carpenter, Kurt Russel, and make-up effects genious Rob Bottin - whose credits include Total Recall, Seven, and much more.

The Thing plays Saturday (7/1) at 9:15, and Thursday (7/6) at 7:00. Tickets

Big Trouble in Little China

At first, Jack Burton seems like yet another tough guy role for Kurt Russel. But appearances can be decieving, because Burton is a jackass. And that jackassery makes the whole thing so much fun, while making room for Wang Chi (Dennis Dun) to step up as the stories real hero.

Big Trouble in Little China plays Saturday (7/1) at 7:00, and Monday (7/3) at 7:00. Tickets
