Godzilla, Gamera, Star Wars, and definitely not Star Wars.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE/MINUS COLOR

Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color is more than a simple color change. Director Takashi Yamazaki and his team carefully went over every shot to recreate the look of black and white film stock. The result is not only stunning to look at, it changes the feel of the film. Godzilla is darker, and more otherworldly. The period correct presentation feels almost like a documentary, and never lets you forget how woefully outmatched his civilian opposition is. Whether or not you’ve seen Godzilla Minus One already, this is an incredible way to experience the film.

Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color starts tonight, and will only play theatrically for one week. Tickets

GAMERA with Ayako Fujitani

Our make-up shows for the snowed out Gamera weekend will be Saturday, February 3, and Ayako was kind enough to reschedule a Q&A. Ayako was one of very few people who appeared in all three films of the Heisei trilogy, and we can’t wait to hear her insights.

Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, Gamera: Attack of Legion, and Gamera: Revenge of Iris will play Saturday, February 3rd. Q&A after Revenge of Iris. Unused tickets from the snowed-out shows will be honored. Tickets and Details

Shakmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Starring Christopher Atkins, two-time recipient of the National Association of Theater Owners Star of the Year award (first for Blue Lagoon, and now for SHAKMA).

VHS Night is Friday, February 2. Trailers start at 9:30, SHAKMA plays 10. Tickets and Details

Family Flix: Frozen

In January, Frozen was supposed to kick off a new, monthly schedule for Family Flix. Ironically, the show was snowed out.

Frozen plays at Noon on Sunday, February 4th as part of Family Flix. Tickets

SPACEBALLS and STAR WARS

The last of the snowed-out shows were a trio of films by Mel Brooks. We don’t have room in the schedule to run them as a block, but we’re looking for ways to fit in make-up shows. The first will be Spaceballs on February 9, right after a show of… Star Wars: A New Hope?

Yup, that’s right. Somehow the delayed Spaceballs shows landed right on the week we were scheduled to play Star Wars. Sometimes things just work out.

Spaceballs plays February 9 & 10. Tickets

Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story play February 9-15. Tickets and Details
