An Infinity of Cinemagics
Can we pretend that our scheduling over the last two weeks has been some kind of social media stunt? Multiverses are big right now. Maybe we did it on purpose. Like, “here’s a glimpse at what we could be running… in an alternate reality.”
Anyways, the schedule changed again. Here it goes:
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Everything Everywhere All at Once is back on the schedule. The last minute changes that happened this week left us without to promote, and our attendance shows it. We only have one screen, so this hit us pretty hard.
In response, the folks at A24 made the very unusual move of sending us a copy of Everything Everywhere All at Once for next week, even though we can only run it for 7 days. Usually new releases require at least a 2 week commitment, so this is very cool of them.
Everything Everywhere All at Once plays April 15 - 21.

The Northman
Initial reactions to Robert Eggers’ Viking revenge epic are coming out, and they’re very good.
It sounds like he’s done the impossible: maintained his very particular voice with a massively increased scope and budget. It’s a shift few directors manage, and we can’t wait for the results.
The Northman plays April 21 - May 5.
Tickets on sale now.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Marvel tapped director Sam Raimi (Evil Dead trilogy, Darkman, Drag Me to Hell) to make the horror-tinged follow up to Spiderman: No Way Home. We’ll have more to say on this later, but for now, we’ve booked it and tickets are available.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness plays May 5 - 26.

-VHS NIGHT-
Doctor Mordrid: Master of the Unknown
In the early 90’s Full Moon had the right to make a Doctor Strange movie. Then they lost those rights, so they did what anyone would do: renamed all the characters, changed enough details to avoid copyright infringement, and made the movie anyways.
The end result is Doctor Mordrid: Master of the Unknown, starring the Jeffrey Combs as definitely not Doctor Strange.
Doctor Mordrid plays May 6.
Tickets on sale soon.
Almost promotion
Being a one screen theater is a mixed blessing. The upside is that we can put all our energy into one movie at a time, and we don’t have to play filler. The downside is sometimes we have to make hard choices between two movies that come out at the same time.
In this case, the movie we missed out on was You Won’t be Alone. It’s a fascinating film from a new director, and we wish we had the screen space to play it.
We also had some cool, in-house promo content on the way. You might have noticed the art for The Northman, courtesy of Alexandra Kuechler-Caffel. She had also started on a piece for You Won’t Be Alone. It’s still rough, but I wanted to share it since it will no longer see use on a poster.
P.S.: Don’t worry @notcoolpdx fans, Ethan is still our go-to art guy. But Alex had been playing around with a faux woodcut style that seemed like too good a fit for The Northman.
