A24 Studio Showcase

From June 10-16, we’re running a selection from independent production house A24. There aren’t many studios that warrant this kind of treatment, but A24 maintains a level of quality an ambition that’s worth noting.

Men

Headlining will be A24’s newest release, Men. From Alex Garland, Men tells the story of a woman who travels to the country to heal, only to find herself in an escalating nightmare, menaced by past and present.
Shows Daily

Ex Machina

On Friday, we’ll follow up Men with Alex Garlands first outing as writer/director. Ex Machina is an unnerving exploration of artificial life and the limits of humanity.
Friday (6/10) - 9:10

Safdie Brothers Double Feature

Good Time

Uncut Gems

The Safdie brothers meticulously craft chaos into something mesmerizing. Though they didn’t reach (kinda) mainstream success until Uncut Gems, their previous film Good Time is just as impressive. In both films, the Safdies elicit career defining performances, and build worlds that are deeply, impressively stressful.
Saturday (6/11) - Good Time 7:30, Uncut Gems 9:30
Shows ticketed independently

Lady Bird

The first solo outing from writer/director Greta Gerwig, Lady Bird tells a seemingly familiar coming-of-age story, but does so with an insight and empathy that lifts it far above it’s like.
Sunday (6/12) - 3:15

Green Room

Green Room is a relentless horror thriller from Jeremy Saulnier. It features Patrick Stewert in a terrifying turn, and a typically great performance from the late Anton Yelchin.
Sunday (6/12) - 7:30

Hereditary

For a lot of people, Ari Aster’s Hereditary put A24 on the map, and there’s good reason for that. It’s a menacing slow burn that escalates into visceral horror, with great performances all around.
Monday (6/13) - 7:30

Swiss Army Man

Before they made Everything Everywhere All at Once, Daniels created the deeply strange Swiss Army Man, which tells the story of a stranded man who befriends a very useful corpse. Despite its bleak set-up, it’s a uniquely heartfelt and optimistic film.
Tuesday (6/14) - 7:30

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse tells the tale of two lighthouse keepers struggling to maintain their sanity. Unsettling, blackly comic, and shot in full frame black-and-white, The Lighthouse is a singular film from Robert Eggers.
Wednesday (6/15) - 7:30

Moonlight

A film in three parts, Barry Jenkins Moonlight follows a young man into adulthood as he struggles with his identity and sexuality. It’s a thoughtful, engrossing, and visually hypnotic film. To date, Moonlight marks the only Best Picture Oscar for A24.
Thursday (6/16) - 7:30

Robot Jox Tonight

It’s VHS night, and Robot Jox is on the schedule. We’ve still got tickets left, because we’re playing a movie on VHS at midnight and of course there are tickets left.

If you haven’t been, VHS Night is always a good time, and it’s totally worth a little sleep deprivation.

Tonight (6/3) - 11:00 Doors. 11:30 VHS Trailers. Midnight show.

Top Gun: Maverick
Final Week

Our run of Top Gun: Maverick ends Thursday. It’s really hard to overstate what a bafflingly good movie this is, and it’s the kind of movie that needs to be seen on the big screen. Final show is Wednesday, June 9.
