For one week, we’re partnering with Gift Bar to expand our snacking options with warm pretzels, queso dip, and specially made popcorn seasonings. They even sponsored a few films that pair nicely with cheese sauce.

Can we start by pointing out how ridiculously cool the set design in Event Horizon is? The titular spaceship is equally inspired by hard sci-fi and gothic cathedrals, and it provides the perfect setting for a cast of awesome character actors (Lawrence Fishburne, Sam Niel, and more) to struggle towards the films grotesque finale.

A blood-soaked comedy about two impossibly likable country boys (Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine) who are mistaken for slasher villains. It was quietly released 10 years ago to glowing reviews, and has only found more fans since. Avoid the spoilery trailer and go in blind, you’ll be glad you did.

There are two pictures on the wall of Gift’s kitchen: Peter Falk as Columbo, and Nic Cage as Peter Loew, the hapless vampire-in-the-making from Vampire’s Kiss. Thanks to Cage’s gonzo performance, and the films willingness to get weird, Vampires Kiss is the kind of film that needs to be seen to be believed.
