Trilogy

In 1981, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg teamed up to bring old-fashioned pulp adventure back to the big screen. Inspired by the serial films he watched as a kid, Lucas created the iconic combat-archeologist Indiana Jones. After he wrote the stories, the dream team of director Spielberg, cinematographer Douglas Slocombe, and composer John Williams took over and crafted three of the most influential films of all time.

On 35mm

For the first film in the trilogy, we got our hands on a 35mm print from the films original release. It’s got bright color and a vintage look that pairs great with Indy’s old-school charm. For fans of modern, spotless presentation, we’ll be playing a remastered digital cinema print on Saturday.

Friday (9/1) - 7:00 (35mm)
Saturday (9/2) - 4:30 (Digital)
Monday (9/4) - 7:00 (35mm)

Temple of Doom is the darkest, and strangest film in the trilogy. Lucas didn’t want Nazis to be the antagonist in every film, so made the second entry a prequel of sorts, with a younger, more cynical Jones facing off against an evil blood-cult.

Saturday (9/2) - 7:00
Sunday (9/3) - 4:20
Tuesday (9/5) - 7:00

After the horror-tinged adventures of the second entry, The Last Crusade found Indy back in familiar, Nazi-punching territory. But it’s no re-tread, things are livened up by the addition of the incomparable Sean Connery, and the continuing work of a top-tier crew who knew just how move ahead.

Saturday (9/2) - 9:30
