The POint

It’s easy to take the availability of our favorite movies for granted, but after 2 years booking niche favorites, we’ve learned that movies can disappear without warning.

That’s why we do VHS night, that’s why we brought back 35mm film, and that’s why we’re teaming up with Arrow Video to showcase their excellent remasters. We’ll also have their Blu-rays on sale for every movie this week.

On 35mm Film

We’re going to play a 35mm print of the horror-comedy classic Re-Animator, in all its splattered glory. What more is there to say?

Saturday (May 6) - 7:00
Thursday (May 11) - 7:00

With Django, director Sergio Corbucci’s crafted a colorfully grim version of the American West. Anchored by a career defining performance from Franco Nero as a coffin-dragging anti-hero, Django pushed spaghetti westerns in a violent new direction.

Saturday (May 6) - 4:45
Tuesday (May 9) - 7:00

12 Monkeys is a striking, dystopic sci-fi classic. Directed by Terry Gilliam (Brazil), written by Janet and David Peoples (Blade Runner), and starring Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis, 12 Monkeys had an impressive amount of talent on both sides of the camera.

Sunday (May 7) - 7:00
Monday (May 8) - 7:00

Horror Express is an underseen gothic gem starring horror royalty Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, with a supporting role for Telly Savalas (Kojak himself). That cast could make anything fun, but Horror Express didn’t need the assist. It’s a bloody good time with ape-men, mad monks, re-eyed zombies, and some really out-there narrative turns.

Friday (May 5) - 7:00
Sunday (May 7) - 4:45

Millionaires’ Express is a a kung-fu western starring the biggest names of 80’s Hong Kong, including Yuen Biao, Richard Ng, Cynthia Rothrock, Yasuaki Kurata, Jimmy Wang Yu, and star/director Sammo Hung. Whether that list left you really excited, or completely lost, Millionaires’ Express is a hell of a lot of fun.

Wednesday (May 10) - 7:00

If Animal House was a Giallo film, the end result would look something like Girls Nite Out. Originally released under the unfortunate and/or awesome title The Scaremaker, this is the kind of movie that would vanish without the care and dedication of publishers like Arrow Video.

Saturday (May 6) - 9:30
