Off season? What Off Season?

We just finalized our schedule for the next few weeks, and it’s a doozy. Tickets are available now, but we’re running promotion quietly for the next few days so regulars and subscribers get first pick.

Why the low key rollout? Keep reading and find out…

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Between a brilliant script from Charlie Kaufman, a career changing performance from Jim Carrey, and the inventiveness of director Michel Gondry, it was inevitable that the genre defying sci-fi romance Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind would become a modern classic.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind plays Sunday (1/22) at 4:30, and Tuesday (1/24) at 7:00.

Lost in Translation

After gaining indy acclaim for The Virgin Suicides, Sofia Coppola broke out in a big way with Lost in Translation; a dream-pop character study that doesn’t shy away from the complexities of friendship and romance.

Lost in Translation plays Saturday (1/21) and Monday (1/23) at 7:00.

Star Wars!?

We’ve been trying to make this happen for a minute, and we can’t believe it finally worked out.

Beginning January 27, we’ll be playing the original Star Wars Trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi). All three films will play on Saturday and Sunday, with more showtimes scattered throughout the week.

A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi will play multiple times Jan 27 through Feb 1. Each show is ticketed independantly.

Family Matinee: The Lion King (1994)

About once a month, we’re going to start running a family matinee on Saturday afternoons. What better way to kick things off than the original, animated Lion King? Our usual “everyone needs to act like an adult” behavior policy won’t be in full effect, but we do ask that all children be accompanied by an adult.

The Lion King plays Saturday, January 28 at noon.

Skinamarink - extended one week

Skinamarink is a hazy childhood nightmare put to film. It barely has a plot, you almost never see the characters, and all the dialogue would fit on one page. It’s an uncompromising film that isn’t afraid to alienate, but for those who can sink into it’s rhythm, it’s a singularly frightening film.

Skinamarink plays through Thursday, Jan 26.

VHS Night on sale now

We just opened up presales for our next VHS Night. On Friday, February 3 we’ll show Night of the Demons, with special guest Nick Benson. Nick did special makeup effects for Night of the Demons. He’s going to hang out for the show, and take a few questions afterwards.

Night of the Demons plays Feb 3. Doors at 9:00, trailers at 9:15, movie at 9:40. Q&A after the show.
